"W.A.S.P. - A Tribute"
Bronze Portraiture
"W.A.S.P. - A Tribute" Bronze Portraiture - 16
inches high upon a granite base
The Women Air
Service Pilots were
instrumental to the success of the air war during World War II. These
experienced pilots ferried B17s, B26s, B29s, and various fighters to
military sites where the airplanes were activated for the war effort.
Many of these flights were also "shakedown" flights and first-time
outings for the warbirds. Never to receive their rightful place in
history, this memorial is a well-deserved tribute to all of the brave
women who helped in World War II
